The South’s spirit,
their will to keep on fighting appears to be superhuman. Robert E. Lee has fought a brilliant series
of battles against General Grant. Grant keeps
throwing his troops at the rebel defenses like a fireman throwing buckets of
water at a burning building. And the
flames crackle and consume. Northern
boys are dieing by the thousands. The
North is angry… at President Lincoln!
This election of 1864
will be the most interesting in our history.

will you continue to fight?
You southerners must give up now and end this war. We are now beating the bully and have captured Atlanta. Everyone needs to vote for Lincoln, he has guided us through the war and has got us victory twice. Do you really think that the south that will continue after two devastating losses and they're cities burning and falling apart. Lets continue the war and finally end this. Vote for Lincoln and stay strong.
ReplyDeleteThey came burning Atlanta to day. We all dread it because they say that they will burn the last house before they stop. We are very feared to night we do not know when they will burn our house. If we had not set up our house would have ben burnt up for the fire was very near and the soldiers were going around setting houses on fire where they were not watched. For 3 hole days they came and burned Atlanta, we have no food left everyone is suffering.
ReplyDeleteWe need to vote for Lincoln. He has helped us throughout this entire war and like what John Brown said he had guided us and led us to victory. It would be bosh if the South would continue to fight after its cities being burned to the ground. The North needs to keep fighting. We need to vote for Lincoln if you want our country to be run according to Hoyle.
ReplyDeleteEveryone needs to vote for Lincoln. I really believe that he will abolish slavery. Lincoln seems very determined to at least to try to abolish slavery. I don't know what General William Tecumseh Sherman is doing though. We need to beat the South by weakening their forces and then raiding the capital. I dont like the idea of General Sherman killing innocent people, even if they are in the South. If Lincoln does win, I think that our great nation will become one, not as two parts.

Abraham Lincoln can destroy the South. Lincoln can not loose the election he would make a great president and the country will be better. William T. Sherman is trying to make the South hate war, I am not sure that will work the South will do anything to win. If you want the country to run in the best way it can you need to vote for Lincoln. Slavery and war will finally end.)

Everyone needs to vote for McClellan he will help the south and end our suffering! atlanta might have gone up the spout but we will pull through and win this for the south for our familys! Neither anticipated that the cause of the conflict might cease with, or even before, the conflict itself should cease. Each looked for an easier triumph, and a result less fundamental and astounding. Both read the same Bible, and pray to the same God; and each invokes His aid against the other. ReplyDeleteI agree with the rest, this war should be over. I see grand things in the north and their blockade. Most of all I think Lincon is brilliant and his quote proves it. I, will vote for him. Also I want to keep north and south together and end slavery and his war. I feel that I am the only man to twig this war.
ReplyDeleteI thought this war would be over in a short amount of time. I am getting impatient and need to get my life moving and start a family. Hopefully when this ends there will be men left for me. As long as Lincoln ends the war i'm good, but one thing that cant change is slavery! Slavery should never end, all whites should realize how much we need slaves! I will vote for whoever will support slavery and who will put this war to an end because i need to build a life for myself as soon as possible!

ReplyDeleteVote for McClellan. It's none of my business what goes on up in the North but I have heard they are holding a presidential election and one of the candidates, General McClellan is promising to end the war by letting us be our own country.
Do not vote for Abraham Lincoln! We will not accept abolishing slavery! Us southerners may be low on food and even clothing, but we will not give up on this. My vote will be for General George McClellan. He seems to know what is for the best, unlike Lincoln who can't just let the south be.

I am stumped as to what that McClellan is thinking, with his promises to let the south be its own country. Nothing good will come out of that decision. With Atlanta being captured, the south needs to accept that they're the goners already and end this war.)
You Northerners underestimate us Southerners. We have the spirit the North does not. We have the willpower to stand up for what is right. We will not back down till we get our way. My fellow people, we must stay strong. Show the North we have no weakness.

Lee will keep fighting off the Northerners until you realize the huge mistake you're making. I'm going to vote for General George McClellen because he understands to let us become our own country without the need for all this bloodshed. Lincoln is a fool to believe he can win. The South will prevail!
ReplyDeleteThis war must end. It has dragged further and further, leaving bloodshed in its pass. Perhaps the burning of Atlanta will fix things. I believe we should vote for Lincoln. He can end this war if he becomes president once again. Once the war is over, we can be one again, without slavery but as all of us as equals.
ReplyDeleteAbraham Lincoln has my vote. Splitting our country in two will only cause more violence. The North has the upper hand, and now the South is slowly suffering. With little supplies there is no way for them to win this war. The South now needs to accept that they have lost and understand that they are risking too much. Lives are at stake here, and it is no longer just those who are in battle.

The South would want to control the North still, we would fight over borders, oceans, supplies, and people. Also I agree we should keep Grant! Why break something that is working for us? When u fight a battle you get your back up and fight like you mean it! Why fight for something that you will end up skedaddling and throw in the towel for? Keep it up Lincoln!

(Vote for Abraham. This war should be over and splitting our country into two will directly cause more violence. Lincoln has lead the war and won victory. I am married to a freed slave man and I'm a freed slave so I know what it is like to be a slave. We northerners will not throw in the towel. Lincoln will abolish slavery.)
ReplyDeleteI am enraged hat Lincoln is even a candidate for presidency since this whole war was his fault because he didn't let us keep our traditions. All of the southeners problems are because of him. I promised my mother I would never enlist in the war because she was terrified of me being injured or worse, unfortunately I believe this is one promise I cant keep. I can no longer live with the guilt of knowing that I cant protect the place I love. Lincoln will pay for this.
ReplyDeleteIf the southerners continue to fight, we can destroy them with our 4:1 ratio of manpower. We have burned one of their key cities, and there is no escape from our army. Lincoln will surely be elected, we have nothing to worry about.(Our fighting spirit will never let us down, we have slaughtered the union's troops by the thousands so manpower means nothing. They will never reach us.)
ReplyDeleteI hope Lincoln get's kicked out office. So George McClellan can come in and end the war in a few days by just making us are own country. See how easy it is but no Lincoln has to make it so much harder then it has to be which I'm balled up about. Which happens to be killing many lives on both sides which is BOSH! So hopefully the north realizes this, and votes for general McClellan. Because he will ends this war and this election will show us if the north wants war by electing Lincoln or if they don't want war so by electing McClellan.

We all must vote for Abe he has been the one showing us what to do and it's all been working. We finally have captured Atlanta and have taken the one who has been bullying us. If the south won't give up then we need to finish the war! The south is just getting ripped apart and just falling down.
ReplyDeleteI will fight int ill I can no longer fight. I have killed many northerners so many now that I don't know its hard to keep count. What Sherman is doing is wrong. People in the north men have no moral code. My war against the north is not over. The angry I have to the soldiers will not fade.
